Resident Evil 4 Remake confirms they are not cutting any content

Some Resident Evil fans are nervous after Capcom tweaks the release date information for the Resident Evil 4 remake on Steam.

The upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake has changed its release date information on Steam, which has some fans worried that the upcoming survival-horror game could get its release date delayed. Capcom officially announced the Resident Evil 4 remake last year and wasted no time in confirming its March 24, 2023 release date.

There have been some changes to Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake release plans since the initial announcement, however. When Capcom first announced the Resident Evil 4 remake, the game was going to be a next-gen exclusive, meaning fans were only going to be able to pick it up on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. In the months since the Resident Evil 4 remake announcement, Capcom added PS4 to the list of platforms supporting the game. There are rumors than an Xbox One version of the Resident Evil 4 remake could happen as well, but nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing.

Nothing official has been announced in regard to a potential Resident Evil 4 remake release date delay either, but that hasn’t stopped fans from worrying. The Steam page for the Resident Evil 4 remake has changed the game’s release date from March 24, 2023 to a vague “Coming Soon.” Understandably, this has led some fans to come to the conclusion that Capcom may be planning on pushing back the Resident Evil 4 remake release date.

However, fans shouldn’t get worried just yet. Valve recently changed how the Steam storefront handles release dates, giving publishers the option to simply list the release dates as “Coming Soon” instead of providing specific information. This has resulted in a variety of games having their release dates changed to “Coming Soon” on Steam, including Bethesda’s open world sci-fi RPG Starfield, but it doesn’t mean that fans need to worry about delays.

This isn’t the first time that a change to Resident Evil 4‘s Steam info has caught fans’ attention. Capcom recently changed the title of the original Resident Evil 4 game on Steam, referring to it as Resident Evil 4 (2005) to help differentiate it from the upcoming remake, which is simply going by the title Resident Evil 4 when it launches in March.

There are going to be some changes to Resident Evil 4‘s gameplay and story with the remake as well, but fans will have to wait for launch to get the full scope of what all that will entail for the survival-horror classic.

Resident Evil 4 launches March 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
